EPIDA has 5 main functions, all of which contribute to territorial
development.

Its
studies and forecasting function provides decision-makers
with the necessary elements of information, anticipation
and aids to decision-making in the preparation of general
development briefs. |

Its
real estate function involves applying policies
relating to acquisition, management and piggybacking of
property stocks and to the transfer to State and local
authorities of land required for infrastructures, public
facilities and urbanisation. |

development function covers promotion and canvassing
of investors and property developers with a view to attracting
new businesses and the development of housing, facilities
and services. |

Its
planning function contributes to project definition,
the technical and financial presentation of aims and objectives,
stakeholder coordination and guidance for stakeholder
ventures. |

Its
function as an authorised agent involves assisting
a developer with the creation of facilities. The "Public
Amenities" department responsible for this work has received
ISO 9001 certification on 28 October 2002.
