Parkland and room to move
 Nature City

In Isle d'Abeau housing is on the fringes of the hills, in verdant surroundings dotted with ponds, and with shops and main roads close at hand. In practice this means living amid 3500 hectares of parkland, weekends spent walking, fishing or bathing, and daily contact with the local flora and fauna. There's also the chance to soak up local history, culture and traditions in a setting whose fields, woods and valleys have been remarkably well preserved.

Landscape is an integral part of the identity of the territory the New Town is built on. From the outset the "Nature City" concept was a guiding thread in planning terms. Today's big issue is reconciling the main goals of sustainable development:
- stimulating economic expansion over the territory as a whole
- offering residents a varied living environment
- comprehensive planning that respects the site and enhances the existing countryside.
